Flat Spike

Flatspike is my personal website, I used to be strydominc but that name was already used by a company in the country where I live (unknown to me, not the country, the company!) so to avoid any confusion I made the move. I was never contacted by the owner of the name and I never contacted them. I’m sure they did not even know I existed, I just don’t want to bother some person that actually works for a living

So this is my website and I put all kinds of stuff here. If I make something I think someone else might find useful it will end up here. As you can see from the topics I post under its in a programming / electronic circuits flavour. This is the 3rd revision of the layout of the website. I coded two myself, this one (the third and hopefully last!) is done in wordpress. It was allot of work coding the website myself but in the end I pondered “why should I re-make something there are a group of people maintaining for me?”. So now you know what the version 3 stands for. I came up with the name after looking for a domain name for almost a week, trying allot of different words and ideas. Do you know how hard it is to get a .com domain that’s easy to remember and spell? This one appealed to me because of the oxymoron a flat spike. A spike cant really be flat because then its not a spike any more. Its like the corner of the circle effect.

My country of birth. Its a lovely country and at the same time a horrible one. I cant really complain, I’m better of than 99% of the population. I finished high school and I’m currently studying for a degree at a University. South-Africa has the most beautiful wildlife, natural reserves, coast and countryside and at the other end is the statistic of the most violent country not at war. It sounds worse than it is and violence is on the decline.
